Describe the various contradictions in Sai Baba's appearance and life that made it impossible for anyone to definitively label him as either Hindu or Muslim.

๐Ÿ“– Chapter 7

As Chapter 7 of the Shri Sai Satcharitra explains, Sai Baba's very being was an enigma that defied religious classification. If one were to call him a Hindu, his appearance was that of a Yavana (Muslim), yet if one called him a Muslim, he bore the noble marks of a Hindu. This ambiguity extended to his physical body; his ears were pierced in the Hindu tradition, but there was also evidence of circumcision, a Muslim practice. The ultimate contradiction was his residence: he, a supposed Hindu, lived his entire life in a mosque. However, within that mosque, he maintained a sacred Hindu fire (Dhuni). This fusion of identities led the author to conclude that Sai's incarnation was "holy and beyond both," as no trace of a single caste could be found.
