Narayan Motiram Jaani, a devotee of Sai Baba, was initially a servant to another devotee named Ramchandra Vaman Modak. As detailed in Chapter 33, when Narayanrao went for Baba's Darshan, Sai Baba prophetically told him, "Enough of this servitude now; you should start an independent business instead." Shortly after this divine indication, Narayanrao's job was released, and he embraced independence. He established his own enterprise for food and lodging, which he named "Anandashram."
