Describe the scene of Sai Baba's arrival at the Khandoba temple and his interaction with Mhalasapati.

📖 Chapter 0

The scene described in Chapter 0 is a pivotal moment. After arriving in Shirdi with a wedding procession, Sai Baba went into the Khandoba temple located just outside the village. He was dressed in a kafni, a cap, and a dhoti. Inside, he met Mhalasapati, a local goldsmith and a devout worshipper of Khandoba. As soon as Mhalasapati saw the holy man enter the temple, he greeted him with the welcoming phrase "Aavo Sai Baba," which means "Come, Sai Baba." This spontaneous greeting was significant because Maharaj adopted this name, "Sai Baba," and it became the name by which he was known to all his devotees for the rest of his life.
