Mhalasapati had an exceptionally close and selfless relationship with Sai Baba. As mentioned in Chapter 0, he was a constant companion, most notably staying awake with Maharaj all through the night on the alternate nights Baba slept in the Masjid. Their nights were filled with affectionate conversations. Mhalasapati's devotion was so profound that this routine continued for many years.
