The process of creating and distributing Udi was a central part of Sai Baba's daily life in Shirdi. As narrated in Chapter 33, he would first acquire firewood, sometimes by purchasing surplus bundles, and pile the logs. He would then offer these dry logs into the sacred fire, or Dhuni, that he kept constantly burning in the Masjid. The large quantity of ash that remained from this fire was the Udi. Baba would then apply this Udi to devotees. This was not an occasional act; it was a daily practice performed in the mornings, afternoons, and evenings, and he would never send a devotee away empty-handed.
Describe the process Baba followed to create the Udi and his routine for giving it to his followers.
