This Sanyasi first came alone and then returned at mealtime with two companions, and they all ate. Because Dev's mind was veiled by "Maya," he didn't recognize Baba and remained doubtful. The resolution came after Dev wrote a distressed letter to Jog. Baba then explained to Jog, "tell him, 'You did not recognize Me! Why then did you call Me?'" When Jog relayed this message, Dev was overcome with emotion, realizing his error and feeling dejected for having blamed Sai.
