Describe the miracles that occurred when Chand Patil first met the Fakir under the mango tree.

During their first meeting, Chand Patil witnessed two remarkable miracles that convinced him he had met a saint, or 'Avaliya'. As detailed in Chapter 5, the Fakir, who was Sai Baba, first needed fire for his chillum. He thrust a pair of tongs into the earth and pulled out a glowing ember. Immediately after, he needed water to wet the cloth for the chillum. With no water nearby, he struck his short stick, or satka, on the ground, and a stream of water began to flow. These supernatural acts stunned Patil and revealed the Fakir's divine nature.
