Describe the living conditions of the Chavadi where Amir was instructed to stay for his treatment.

📖 Chapter 22

The Chavadi, where Amir was ordered to stay, was an old and dilapidated building in a state of extreme neglect. Chapter 22 provides a vivid description of its hardships: it was home to lizards and poisonous scorpions, and lepers also stayed there. The ground was uneven with seventeen knee-deep holes, and the back was filled with garbage. Amir had to endure constant dampness from the ground, rain from above, and a chaotic environment of wind and cold. It was so wretched that the text notes even a dog would not endure the troubles there.
