This inspired her and her husband, an officer in the Post Department, to travel to Shirdi after he was transferred to Akola. They first worshipped at Gomati tirtha on their way. After arriving, she was unable to make her khichdi offering for two weeks. On the fifteenth day, driven by her vow, she approached the masjid at noon. Finding that Baba was already eating behind a curtain, and knowing that no one was supposed to enter, her resolve did not waver.
