Describe the journey and initial experiences of the sannyasi Vijayananda upon his arrival in Shirdi, as detailed in Chapter 31.

📖 Chapter 31

As recounted in Chapter 31, a sannyasi named Vijayananda traveled from Madras with the intention of going on a pilgrimage to Mansarovar. Hearing of Sai Baba's great fame, he decided to alter his route to stop in Shirdi for darshan. Upon his arrival, he met Swami Somdevji, who discouraged him by describing the immense difficulties of the remaining 500-mile journey. This news made Vijayananda dejected and worried. However, when he finally took darshan of Sai Baba and bowed at His feet, he felt very pleased. His peace was short-lived, as Baba then abruptly told the assembly to send the sannyasi away, a command that greatly distressed Vijayananda, who was new and did not understand Baba's mysterious ways.
