Describe the interaction between Sai Baba and Shama regarding the author's arrival. What was Baba truly interested in?

📖 Chapter 19

When Madhavrao, also known as Shama, presented the author to Sai Baba, Baba playfully asked what 'Dakshina' (offering) Shama had brought. Shama replied that instead of a direct offering, the author gives a reverent bow and that there were fifteen rupees to be offered. However, Baba quickly dismissed the monetary aspect. As Chapter 19 shows, his true interest was in the spiritual state and recent experiences of the devotee. He immediately pivoted the conversation, asking, 'Did you have any conversation? ... Tell me all of it in detail now.' This demonstrates that Baba valued the inner exchange of wisdom and experience far more than any material offering.
