During a Chavadi procession at night, Laxmichand observed Sai Baba coughing. A thought arose in his mind that the cough might be a result of someone's 'evil eye' affecting Baba. As Chapter 28 narrates, this was merely a fleeting, private thought. However, the next morning when Laxmichand was in the masjid, he was astonished. Baba, speaking to Madhavrao but loud enough for all to hear, said that His cough must be the effect of an evil eye.
