The dynamic portrayed in Chapter 26 is one of complete surrender from the devotee to the Guru. The devotee lays their ego, or 'me-ness,' at Sai Baba's feet, asking to be relieved of body-consciousness and the anxieties of pleasure and pain. They request to be moved 'like a puppet' according to the Guru's will. In return for this total surrender, the devotee seeks peace for their restless mind, guidance for their welfare, and ultimately, the grace-filled gift of the natural state of union (Sayujya), as described in Chapter 26. Constant company with the Guru is considered their scripture, and chanting His name their meditation.
Describe the ideal relationship between a devotee and their Guru as portrayed in the devotional prayers of Chapter 26.
