Mamlatdar Dev showed great hospitality to the Sanyasi and his two companions. As described in Chapter 40, Dev meticulously followed all the traditional rituals of a host. This included the post-meal rites of Uttaraposhan and Shuddhachaman, and the offering of fragrant cool water.
