Mamlatdar Dev showed great hospitality to the Sanyasi and his two companions. After inviting them to return at noon, he ensured they were well-fed, and the text notes they were "thoroughly satisfied by the meal." The hospitality went beyond just the food. As described in Chapter 40, Dev meticulously followed all the traditional rituals of a host. This included the post-meal rites of Uttaraposhan and Shuddhachaman, and the offering of fragrant cool water. With "great respect and joy," he also provided everyone with mouth fresheners (Mukhashuddhi), sandalwood paste, flowers, betel leaves, perfume, and rosewater, treating his uninvited guests with full honors.
