Describe the hospitality Dev showed the Sanyasi and his companions, and explain if Dev understood the significance of their visit.

📖 Chapter 40

When the Sanyasi and his two companions arrived for a meal, Dev showed them great hospitality. As detailed in Chapter 40, all three were thoroughly satisfied by the meal. Dev ensured all proper rituals were completed, including Uttaraposhan and Shuddhachaman, and respectfully offered sandalwood paste, flowers, betel leaves, perfume, and rosewater. Despite this generous treatment, Dev did not grasp the potential spiritual significance of the event. The text states that a "veil of Maya" spread over him, causing him to see them merely as guests who came for a meal. He remained doubtful and failed to connect their uninvited arrival to a promise he believed Baba had made.
