📖 Chapter 29

Chapter 29 of the Satcharita details the arrival of a group of devotees from the Madras region, now known as Chennai. This group of travelers, whose fame had spread, came to Shirdi for darshan while on a pilgrimage to Kashi. After taking darshan of Sai, they attained peace and decided to stay near him for several days. Their tradition was of the Ramdasi sect, and they engaged in loving and enthusiastic devotional singing regularly. The text mentions that Baba was pleased with them, giving them eight rupees and eight annas. This account illustrates how devotees from distant places were drawn to Shirdi by Baba's fame for being a generous and compassionate saint.
