📖 Chapter 40

Mamlatdar Dev provided extensive and respectful hospitality to the Sanyasi and his two companions. Chapter 40 details that after they were "thoroughly satisfied" by the meal, Dev conducted several post-meal rituals with great care. This included the Uttaraposhan (final sipping of water) and Shuddhachaman (rinsing the mouth). He also offered them fragrant cool water and Mukhashuddhi (mouth fresheners). The hospitality extended further to honoring the guests with the traditional etiquette of applying sandalwood paste and offering flowers, betel leaves, perfume, and rosewater, all of which Dev gave with "great respect and joy."
