The first meeting is a pivotal story from Chapter 5. Chand Patil, a fortunate Muslim man from Dhup village, was grieving the loss of his mare for two months. While returning disappointed from Aurangabad, he came across a mango tree. Underneath, he saw a Fakir wearing a cap and kafni, with a short stick (satka) under his arm. This Fakir, who was Baba, called out to Patil, inviting him to rest and smoke a chillum. He then asked about the saddle Patil was carrying and, upon hearing about the lost horse, miraculously told him exactly where to find it near some streams.
Describe the first encounter between Chand Patil and the Fakir who would become known as Sai Baba.
