As explained in Chapter 0, when a devotee undertakes the task of writing a detailed poetic biography of their Guru, it serves a dual purpose. Firstly, the act of writing itself is considered a form of Guru service performed by the author. Secondly, when other devotees study this work and perform Parayans (devotional readings), the author gains the additional merit of serving God within humanity (Jan-Janardan) and performing a public service. This allows other devotees to also achieve the purpose of their lives through the study of the biography.
Describe the dual purpose and benefit that comes from a devotee writing a detailed biography of their Guru.
