Kashiram Shimpi was one of Maharaj's earliest and most devoted followers in Shirdi. Chapter 0 explains that he served Maharaj excellently with his body, mind, and wealth. His specific services included stitching and giving Maharaj a green kafni and a green cap, although Baba usually wore white. Furthermore, Kashiram took a vow to provide Maharaj with chillum and tobacco, as well as firewood for his Dhuni. His devotion was so complete that he would place his entire money bag before Maharaj, inviting him to take as much as he wished.
