Describe the conversation between Vijayananda and Swami Somdevji in Shirdi and its immediate effect on the sannyasi.

📖 Chapter 31

As detailed in Chapter 31, upon arriving in Shirdi, the sannyasi Vijayananda met Swami Somdevji of Haridwar in the assembly of devotees. Vijayananda asked how far it was to Mansarovar. The Swami replied that it was five hundred miles away and proceeded to list numerous hardships, including heavy snow, language barriers changing every fifty miles, and the fear locals had of outsiders. Hearing this news directly from the Swami's mouth had an immediate negative impact; the chapter states that the sannyasi became dejected, his mind grew distressed, and he became immersed in worry about his pilgrimage.
