Describe the background of Damu Anna and his role in the Ram Navami festival as mentioned in the Satcharitra.

📖 Chapter 25

Damu Anna was a well-to-do person and a wealthy Kasar (bronze-smith) from Ahmednagar who was deeply devoted to Sai Baba. His story is shared to show Sai's readiness to protect His devotees. As part of his devotion, Damu Anna participated in the annual Ram Navami festival in Shirdi. As Chapter 25 explains, two large new flags are taken out in a procession, and one of these belonged to Damu Anna, a vow he had maintained with uninterrupted love for many years. The other flag belonged to the Nimonkars. This demonstrates his significant and long-standing commitment to the traditions associated with Sai Baba in Shirdi.
