His unwavering faith led him to refuse hospital treatment, insisting instead on being taken to Shirdi. As Chapter 0 recounts, he was brought there, and on Sai Baba's instructions, Madhavrao Deshpande treated him. By Maharaj's grace, Kashiram's health improved, and he recovered. For his brave act of fighting the armed thieves, Kashiram received a notable honor: a sword gifted to him by the Bombay government. He lived for some years after this harrowing event.
