Balaji Patil Nevasakar was a devotee who demonstrated extraordinary service and self-sacrifice. According to Chapter 35, he was so dedicated that he "wore out his body for Baba." His daily service included sweeping the paths Baba used to walk in the village and on his rounds to Lendi. Beyond this, his detachment was profound; after harvesting his fields, he would bring all the grain to the mosque and offer it at Baba's feet. He would only take home whatever portion Baba gave back to him. In a further act of extreme devotion, he would drink the wastewater from the drain after Baba had bathed and washed.
