Chapter 0 explains that Maharaj arrived in Shirdi with a wedding procession for the nephew of Chandbhai's wife. Before this journey, Maharaj had stayed at Chandbhai's house for a few days after miraculously producing fire from the ground with his tongs. The wedding procession stopped in a garden near the Khandoba temple outside Shirdi. Upon entering the temple, he met Mhalasapati, a goldsmith and devotee of Khandoba. It was Mhalasapati who greeted him as "Sai Baba." Following this first encounter, Mhalasapati brought Maharaj into the village and introduced him to his companions, Kashiram Shimpi and Appa Jagle.
Describe Sai Baba's journey to Shirdi and his first acquaintances as detailed in the introductory chapter.
