Describe Ratanji's first encounter with Sai Baba in Shirdi and what it reveals about the proper approach to seeking help for one's troubles.

📖 Chapter 14

Ratanji's first encounter with Sai Baba in Shirdi is a powerful example of approaching a spiritual master for help. As instructed by Das Ganu, Ratanji arrived in Shirdi and went to the Masjid for darshan. Chapter 14 describes how upon seeing Baba, "love surged within him." His approach was one of deep reverence and humility. He prostrated at Sai's feet, placed a flower garland around Baba's neck, offered fruits, and then sat near Him with great respect. He didn't immediately demand a solution but first offered his devotion. This demonstrates that the proper approach involves faith, humility, respect, and an act of surrender before presenting one's troubles to a higher power.
