While returning from a market, Kashiram was set upon by Bhil robbers. According to Chapter 0, he fought back fiercely when the thieves tried to take a small, dear bundle from him. He managed to kill two thieves with a dropped sword before being struck on the head with an axe and left for dead. However, he survived and, having full faith in Maharaj, refused to go to a hospital, insisting on being taken to Shirdi.
