Could you explain the significance of devotees giving books to Baba in Shirdi and what typically happened to those books?

📖 Chapter 27

Devotees in Shirdi held a belief that having a book blessed by Sai Baba would lead to the acquisition of merit and supreme welfare for both the reader and listener. As described in Chapter 27, devotees would bring sacred books like the Five-Jeweled Gita or Bhaktaleelamrut and offer them into Baba's hands. However, the process required patience. Baba, knowing the devotee's state, would often take the book, turn some pages, and instead of returning it to the eager owner, he would give it to Madhavrao (Shama) to keep, testing the devotee's faith and detachment.
