Could you explain the dynamic between Kashiram and Sai Baba regarding the practice of giving Dakshina?

📖 Chapter 0

The dynamic surrounding Dakshina between Kashiram and Sai Baba was a profound spiritual lesson. Initially, as Chapter 0 explains, Kashiram was extremely eager for Maharaj to accept Dakshina from him, to the point of feeling distress and crying if Maharaj did not take it. This eagerness, however, fostered a subtle pride in his ability to give. To counteract this spiritual obstacle, Maharaj orchestrated a 'leela' or divine play. He began demanding Dakshina from Kashiram relentlessly, even after Kashiram's funds were depleted, forcing him to borrow money until his credit ran out. This experience was designed to make Kashiram realize that he did not truly possess the power to give. Once this humility was ingrained and his pride was removed, the demands for Dakshina ceased and his financial prosperity was restored.
