Once the food in the Handi was cooked, a specific distribution ritual was followed. Chapter 38 details that the Handi was brought into the Masjid and formally consecrated with a "Fatya" prayer offered by a Maulvi. The very first portions of this blessed food, or "Prasad," were sent to Mhalasapati and also to Tatya.
