The idea for Dixit's Wada began in December 1909, when Dixit decided he wanted to become a resident of Shirdi. According to Chapter 4, his initial thought was to build a tin roof, but this evolved into a firm decision to construct a full Wada. The foundation stone was laid the following year, on December 9th, after receiving Baba's approval. The next day, December 10th, Baba gave the final order for Dixit to lay the foundation.
