Chapter 52 uses metaphors to describe the union between a devotee and the Guru. Can you explain these metaphors?

๐Ÿ“– Chapter 52

Chapter 52 employs powerful metaphors to illustrate the state of non-duality achieved through devotion. The first is that of a river meeting the ocean. Just as a river forgets its "river-ness" and individuality upon embracing the ocean, a devotee who takes refuge in the Guru loses any sense of a separate self or duality. The second metaphor presented in Chapter 52 is of two lamps becoming one when they embrace. When brought together, the state of duality immediately vanishes, and there is only a single, unified light. Both metaphors beautifully convey the concept of complete oneness and the dissolution of the ego when a devotee merges with the Guru.
