Chapter 40 uses several analogies. Can you explain the metaphors of the river and ocean, and the puppeteer?

๐Ÿ“– Chapter 40

Chapter 40 employs powerful metaphors to explain spiritual concepts. The analogy of the river and ocean illustrates the union of a devotee with the Guru. Just as a river and ocean have different names but are essentially one and lose all difference when they meet, a devotee who seeks exclusive refuge in the Sadguru is granted the Guru's own nature, dissolving their separateness. The second metaphor, as described in Chapter 40, is that of the puppeteer. The author, Hemadpant, compares himself to a puppet and Sai to the puppeteer who holds the strings. This signifies that the author has no agency of his own in writing the book; it is Sai who is controlling the narrative and making the 'image...dance.'
