Chapter 23 seems to give conflicting views on Sai Baba's identity. Was he considered an incarnation of God, or did he see himself as just a servant?

📖 Chapter 23

Chapter 23 of the Sai Satcharitra explains this apparent contradiction. While his devotees considered him an Incarnation (Avatar) because he displayed all the necessary signs and characteristics, Baba himself maintained a stance of profound humility. He would say, "I am a humble servant in the court of Allah," and his constant chants included "I am a poor servant" and "Allah Malik" (God is the Master). As this chapter notes, he never claimed divinity by saying "Anal Haq" (I am God), instead emphasizing his role as a servant of God while demonstrating perfect human conduct.
