As explained in Chapter 16, the Sadguru is 'Aptakama,' meaning His desires are always fulfilled and He is beyond needing anything. However, He accepts offerings to fulfill the devotee's desire for service. The key factor is the devotee's attitude. The chapter teaches that if a leaf or flower is offered with sincere faith, He accepts it with great love. But if the same offering is made with pride, He turns His face away. He is an 'ocean of Truth, Consciousness, and Bliss' and cares little for outward rituals; it is the sincere faith behind the act that He enjoys with deep satisfaction.
Chapter 16 states the Sadguru is 'Aptakama' (desires are fulfilled). Given this, why does He accept offerings, and what is the nature of His acceptance?
