Chapter 16 allegorically lists eight 'ministers' in service to the 'Guru-King'. What are they and what is their significance?

📖 Chapter 16

In the allegorical court of the Sadguru described in Chapter 16, there are eight 'ministers' perpetually engaged in His service. These are not individuals but personified spiritual qualities and practices essential for a seeker. The eight ministers are: Detachment, Devotion, Pure Knowledge, Hearing (Shravan), Reflection (Manan), Meditation (Nididhyasan), Self-investigation, and Realization. By presenting these as the highest officials in the Guru's court, Chapter 16 signifies that these practices and virtues are the primary means through which a devotee can serve the Guru and progress on the spiritual path towards the ultimate goal of Self-bliss.
