As recounted in Chapter 6, it began when a plague outbreak forced the cancellation of the Ram Navami Kirtan at Siddha-Kavthe, where Balabuva Satarkar was scheduled to perform. This freed him up and he met with Dixit, expressing his wish to see Sai Baba.
