Can you tell me the story of Kashiram and the thieves? What happened to him?

The story of Kashiram's encounter with thieves is a powerful example of Sai Baba's protection. As described in Chapter 0, Kashiram was attacked by thieves who wanted a small bundle he was carrying. This bundle, which contained only powdered sugar for feeding ants as advised by a saint, was very dear to him. He fought back bravely, even killing two thieves with a dropped sword, but was struck on the head with an axe and left for dead. However, he survived, regained consciousness, and insisted on being taken to Shirdi instead of a hospital.
