Can you tell me the story of Kashiram and the thieves?

Kashiram was attacked by a group of thieves who mistakenly believed a small bundle he carried contained treasure, when it was only powdered sugar for feeding ants. As detailed in Chapter 0, he fought back courageously with a dropped sword, killing two of the thieves before another struck him with an axe, leaving him unconscious. The thieves fled, thinking he was dead. Simultaneously, miles away in Shirdi, Maharaj became extremely agitated, which devotees recognized as his way of spiritually protecting a devotee in peril. Kashiram survived and insisted on being taken to Shirdi for healing.
