The first holy sight, or darshan, that Kakasaheb Dixit had of Sai Baba occurred on November 2, 1909. According to Chapter 4, this meeting was the result of a chain of events that began with an accident. While in England, Dixit slipped and injured his foot, which resulted in a permanent lameness. Though it seemed like misfortune, this event led him to meet Chandorkar, who told him about Sai's fame. This ultimately brought him to Shirdi for that first pivotal meeting. He then returned for a second darshan in December of the same year.
