Damu Anna was a wealthy bronze-smith, or Kasar, from Ahmednagar who was a devout follower of Sai Baba. His story is shared to illustrate Sai's readiness to protect his devotees. As detailed in Chapter 25, Damu Anna played a significant role in the annual Ram Navami festival in Shirdi. For many years, as part of a vow undertaken with uninterrupted love, he provided one of the two large new flags for the festival procession, with the other belonging to the Nimonkars. This procession would commence from the house of Kondaji Sutara and conclude with the long banners being tied to the two ends of the Masjid.
Can you tell me more about Damu Anna? Who was he and what was his connection to the Ram Navami festival?
