During the annual Ram Navami festival in Shirdi, a significant event is the procession of two large, new flags. As described in Chapter 25, this procession is a well-known local tradition. One of the flags belongs to the Nimonkars, and the second one is provided by Damu Anna as part of a regular vow he has maintained for many years with great love and devotion. The procession starts from the house of Kondaji Sutara, the carpenter, and proceeds with the accompaniment of musical instruments before the long banners are tied to the two ends of the Masjid.
