Dadasaheb Khaparde, a very learned and prominent figure famous in the Legislative Assembly, came to stay in Shirdi with his family out of love for Sai Baba. As described in Chapter 27, Dadasaheb himself stayed for four months, while his family remained for seven. The entire family was very faithful, especially Mrs. Khaparde, who showed ultimate love for Sai's feet. She would fast daily until Baba accepted her food offering, and only after Baba had eaten would she take her meal. This deep devotion was noted by Baba, who decided to show her the "bright path" due to her firm faith.
