Sapatnekar was a devotee who initially faced harsh treatment from Sai Baba, who would repeatedly say "Chal Hat" (Go away) to him. As described in the Shri Sai Satcharitra, this caused Sapatnekar great distress, making him wonder if his past sins or initial doubts about Baba were the cause. He made a firm resolution to stay in Shirdi until he received Baba's grace. His persistence was rewarded when he found an opportunity to hold Baba's feet. Baba then miraculously narrated Sapatnekar's entire life story to a shepherd woman, revealing his omniscience.
