Sai Baba's process of feeding the hungry was a comprehensive act of service. He would personally shop for all the ingredients and pay in cash. According to Chapter 38, once the food was cooked, it was brought into the Masjid and consecrated with a prayer ("Fatya") by a Maulvi before being distributed as Prasad.
