There is a remarkable account in Chapter 0 about Kashiram's encounter with Bhil robbers. While returning from a market, he was ambushed. He fought back fiercely when they tried to snatch a small bundle of powdered sugar he carried to feed ants. In the struggle, Kashiram killed two robbers before being struck unconscious by an axe. At that very moment in Shirdi, Maharaj became extremely agitated, shouting and swearing. Devotees nearby recognized this as his method of remotely protecting a follower in grave danger. Despite being outnumbered, Kashiram survived the attack, a feat attributed to Maharaj's protective grace. The narrative illustrates that what the killer can do against the Savior is nothing.
