Can you recount the story involving the Purandare family and the eggplants sent for Sai Baba?

📖 Chapter 9

Certainly. As detailed in Chapter 9, the family of Raghuvir Bhaskar Purandare was traveling to Shirdi. A devotee gave them some eggplants, requesting with great love that they prepare a mashed dish called 'bharit' and also fry some crisp slices, or 'kachrya', for Baba. Upon arriving in Shirdi, the family offered the bharit as Naivedya during the meal after the Arati. Later, while eating, Baba, who enjoyed the bharit, suddenly expressed a wish to eat the 'kachrya' as well. This caused confusion, as eggplants were not in season and no one knew where to find them. The incident led to a search that traced the bharit back to the Purandare's supply, revealing the original loving request of the devotee and demonstrating Baba's profound awareness of her specific wish.
