Can you recount the story from Chapter 5 about Devidas, the Fakir, and their relationship with Sai Baba?

📖 Chapter 5

Chapter 5 of the Sai Satcharitra details the story of Devidas, who had settled in Shirdi twelve years before Baba arrived with the wedding party. Devidas was a respected teacher, instructing Appa Bhill and others, and was considered a Guru by Tatyaba. A Fakir once challenged Devidas to a scriptural debate but was defeated by Devidas's detachment and fled to Vaijapur. As the chapter explains, many years later, this same Fakir returned and bowed to Sainath. His delusion of being a Guru was dispelled, and he became pure through repentance. Baba, in his profound play, treated the Fakir with respect, demonstrating the lesson of true Guruship and discipleship.
