While returning from a market, Kashiram was accosted by Bhil robbers. As explained in Chapter 0, the conflict escalated when the thieves tried to seize a small bundle of powdered sugar that was very dear to him. In the ensuing struggle, Kashiram managed to kill two thieves before being struck in the head with an axe and left for dead. Simultaneously, back in Shirdi, Maharaj became extremely agitated, shouting and swearing. The devotees present understood this was his way of protecting a devotee in grave danger. Indeed, despite the odds, Kashiram survived. He insisted on being taken to Shirdi, where he was treated by Madhavrao Deshpande on Maharaj's instructions and recovered by Baba's grace.
Can you recount the incident involving Kashiram and the Bhil robbers, and explain how Sai Baba was involved from afar?
