Can you recount the complete story of Cholkar's vow to Sai Baba and how it was ultimately fulfilled?

📖 Chapter 15

The story of Cholkar, detailed in Chapter 15, begins with his prayer to pass an examination to make his salary permanent, as his poor household depended on it. He made a vow to Sai Baba that if he passed, he would visit Shirdi and distribute sugar candy. His wish was granted, but due to financial hardship, described as the difficult 'threshold-ghat' of home expenses, he could not immediately afford the journey. As a personal penance for this delay, Cholkar gave up sugar entirely, even taking his tea without it. After some time, he managed to go to Shirdi, where he joyfully fulfilled his vow by distributing sugar. This narrative highlights his devotion and the worldly struggles he faced before he could complete his promised offering.
